Rescue mama Ricci gave birth (for the last time) nine days ago. Today, one of her nipples was looking questionable. It was quite firm and pink, which are indications that she may be developing mastitis.  

The best way to prevent infection from developing is to ensure the milk is not being allowed to build up inside the suspicious mammaries. In the past, we've tried to use kittens to help us with this, but kittens don't always follow instructions... 😹

So... we created the TinyMilker! This handy little tool allows us to gently milk a cat 😹 so we can assess the milk for signs of infection, collect samples to culture, and reduce risk of infection. It also reduces pressure and can clear blockages to make mama much more comfortable. 😻

And of course, Darling Ricci and her kittens will be spayed and neutered, so none of them have to experience this ever again!
