Hello Everybody ! This is the 3rd Episode of my Travel Kashmir series. Pahalgam is a beautiful place and a horse trek is something which tourists get involved in if they like going on a horse. ( and sometimes forced by the guides :P lol )

I personally had a bittersweet experience. I was actually cheated here and paid a lot of extra money than the government rate mentioned by the tourism department of kashmir. I will highly recommend you to watch the first video of this series which was uploaded before the ep 01. It is an informative video ( Things to know before visiting Kashmir | Bad experiences in Kashmir 2021 ) and will help you a lot if you are visiting kashmir anytime soon.

However the landscapes were absolutely spectacular and that definitely made my day in pahalgam during my first time visit in pahalgam kashmir.

Pahalgam is a hill station in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Mountain trails run northeast to Amarnath Cave Temple, a Hindu shrine and site of the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. Overa Aru Wildlife Sanctuary is home to animals including brown bears and musk deer. Northeast, the Lidder River runs through scenic Betaab Valley. Southeast, Tulian Lake is flanked by mountain peaks and often frozen.

Located 95 km from Srinagar at a height of 7200 ft, Pahalgam, known as the ‘Valley of Shepherds’, is a famous hill station in Jammu and Kashmir where many films have been shot. Standing at the confluence of Lidder river and the Sheshnag lake, Pahalgam is surrounded by thickly wooded pine forests, breathtaking vistas of meadows and the snow-clad Himalayan mountains.

Serving as the base camp during the Amarnath Yatra, the Pahalgam-Chandanwati-Amarnath route is preferred by tourists trying to reach the mountain cave of Lord Shiva. The town also holds an amazing two-day long Snow Festival that showcases winter sports like skiing, snow-sledging and many more which tourists can participate in. Other activities that tourists can indulge in are golf, trekking and angling.
