Experience late afternoon into early evening in Kuta, Bali, as we take a relaxed 4K walking tour through one of the island’s most iconic beach destinations. From the shoreline to the bustling streets, this walk captures the real atmosphere of Kuta as the sun begins to set and the nightlife slowly comes alive.

We start at Kuta Beach, a legendary stretch of coastline that has long been a favourite with international travellers, especially Aussies visiting Bali. While the beach has lost a significant amount of sand over the years due to coastal abrasion, conservation and restoration efforts are ongoing to preserve this famous shoreline. Despite the visible changes, Kuta Beach still draws crowds for its surf, sunset views, and nostalgic holiday vibes.

From the beach, we head towards Pantai Kuta Street, one of the main access roads to the beachfront. This street is often congested, particularly in the late afternoon, as it serves as a primary route for visitors heading to and from Kuta Beach.

We then turn right onto Bakungsari Street, a busy strip lined with local shops, restaurants, and small businesses. During high season and school holidays, this road can become quite packed with traffic, reflecting just how popular Kuta remains as a holiday hotspot.

Continuing on, we arrive at Kartika Plaza Street, a long and well-known road famous for its large hotels, international restaurants, shopping centres, and tourist facilities. This area caters heavily to travellers staying in Kuta and nearby Tuban, offering plenty of dining and accommodation options within walking distance.

Our walk follows Kartika Plaza Street all the way to Discovery Shopping Mall, once a favourite sunset viewing spot for visitors. In the past, many people would gather here to watch the sky turn orange over the ocean. Currently, ongoing beach conservation and construction works have impacted the view and overall atmosphere. Hopefully, once restoration and development are complete, this area will regain its former charm and once again become a prime sunset destination in Kuta.
