There are over 10000 species of birds in the world and about 1300 are found in India. Keoladeo National park, formerly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is home to more than 400 bird species. Keoladeo National park is a UNESCO world heritage site.
We visited this place and we were lucky to spot many types of birds in this visit, including Siberian cranes. The Siberian crane (Grus leucogeranus) or Siberian white crane or snow crane is a very rare bird and reports say that they are not visiting Keoladeo national park these days.
Apart from the Siberian Cranes, we also saw White Stork, Ibis, Great egret, Peacock, red-wattled lapwing, Woodpecker, Peahen, Pale rockfinch, Red-vented bulbul, Rufous treepie, Indian robin, Kingfisher, Jungle Babbler, Asian Koel, While headed Pigeon, Little Egret, Western Swamphen, Purple Swamphen, The anhinga, snakebird, darter, American darter, water turkey, Gray Heron, and White-breasted waterhen.
We also saw some animals like Nilgai or Blue Bull, Chital, Monkeys, and monitor lizard.
