If you love quick and comforting recipes, then this Dahi Tadka will definitely become your favorite. It is light on the stomach, easy to make and super flavorful.
Ingredients:-
1 cup fresh thick curd (dahi)
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
1–2 dry red chilies (broken)
8–10 curry leaves
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chili powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp water (optional, for consistency)
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Method:-
Step-1:-First whisk the curd well until smooth and creamy. Keep it aside.
Step-2:-Heat oil in a pan on medium flame.
Step-3:-Add chopped onion and sauté until it becomes soft and slightly golden.
Step-4:-Lower the flame and add turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. Mix well.
Step-5:-Now add the whisked curd slowly while stirring continuously on low flame.
Step-6:-Cook for 2–3 minutes, do not boil, otherwise the curd may split.
Step-7:-If needed, add a little water to adjust the consistency.
Turn off the flame
Step-8:-Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
Add cumin seeds, dry red chilies and curry leaves. Fry for a few seconds till aromatic. and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
