Life doesn’t always happen indoors.
Sometimes… it happens in the garden.
In this video, I share a real day in my garden working on the soil using compost, chicken manure, liquid fertilizer made from seafood mix, and fermented fish bone liquid. I take my time mixing the soil properly because good soil is the foundation of good food.
You’ll also see me harvest fresh coconuts for my guests, watch and supervise as my daughter and her friend grill meat and plantain over firewood, and enjoy a slow, joyful day outdoors surrounded by plants.
I also visit my neighbour’s garden to let them know their banana is ripe and ready for harvest. They usually don’t notice until I point it out, and they always offer me some in return even though I grow plantain in my own garden. This season, my harvest has been so abundant that I had to politely refuse. Sometimes abundance teaches you when you already have enough.
This video is about more than gardening.
It’s about soil, food, community, generosity, and slow living.
It’s about how caring for the soil changes how we eat, share, and live.
Good soil grows good food.
