As a family systems therapist and having worked with children and families for most of my career, I believe that education is crucial for a child's success and well-being, and I don't imagine I'm alone in this. Of course, there are certainly exceptions to the rule, people like Jay Z, Katy Perry and Richard Branson all dropped out of High School, but these are the outliers and underdogs we love to celebrate. It's safe to say that it is generally accepted that a thorough education can provide a wide range of opportunities and advantages. There's some evidence to support this - according to some statistics and surveys, Harvard University has the highest number of billionaires and millionaires compared to other institutions.


Tiger or Intensive Parents have three core beliefs.

Education is a core value and aim to set their child up for success by making it a priority. Tiger parenting is a parenting style that emphasizes the value of education and encourages kids to achieve academically in sports and/or performing arts.

Encouraging a strong work ethic: Tiger Parents believe that success comes from hard work and self-discipline. By teaching their children the value of diligence and determination, they can help them develop a strong work ethic that will serve them well in the future.

Identifying and cultivating strengths: Tiger Parents also recognize that every child has unique talents and abilities. By encouraging their children to explore different activities and subjects, they can help them identify their strengths and focus on developing them. This can lead to increased confidence and success in various areas of life.

Despite their strict approach, Tiger Parents are also known for being deeply supportive and nurturing. They are committed to their children's success and are willing to do whatever it takes to help them achieve their goals.
While Tiger Parenting may not be right for every family, it can be an effective way to support a child's education and development. By emphasizing the importance of education and encouraging a strong work ethic, Tiger Parents can set their children up for success and help them reach their full potential.
