Thomas Ermacora at TEDxNYIT

Описание: Ermacora is a cultural pioneer and social entrepreneur, founder of the tactical
urban design non-profit Clear Village (Clear-Village.Org), specializing in participatory
regeneration projects across Europe and thought leadership to expand
the social impact of architecture and planning practices. Ermacora has been
involved in urban scale projects with a number of prominent iconoclasts such
as Frank Gehry and Jan Gehl. For Ermacora, reclaiming neglected spaces and
converting them into valuable assets where wicked problems can be tackled is
often more central to the work than the built environment itself.

Trained as an urbanist and geographer, Ermacora has built his experiences in
various parts of the design spectrum, from running a boutique architecture and
communication studio in Paris working on eco-retrofits and branding, to acting as
a sustainable lifestyle consultant on low carbon masterplans, to curating experiences
and exhibitions relating to urban quality and identity.

An RSA Fellow, advisor to Helsinki Design Week and RIBA Building Futures
think tank, speaker at TEDu and nominated for the INDEXaward 2013, Ermacora
is also launching a cultural innovation center in Hackney (Limewharf.Org).

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
