Welcome to my channel The Taste Mystery! Today, I am revealing the secret recipe for the iconic Fresco Bakery Qeema Samosas from Burns Road, Karachi. These beef samosas are famous for their unique spice blend and that perfect bakery-style crunch. Now you can make this Karachi favorite right at home!
The Dough:
• 2 cups All-purpose Flour
• 1 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp Salt
• 2 tsp Oil
• Water (as needed for a soft, smooth dough)
The Savory Beef Filling:
• 250g Ground Beef (Qeema)
• 1 cup Onion (chopped) & 1/2 cup fresh Coriander (chopped)
• The Spices: 1 tbsp Coriander seeds (crushed), 1 tbsp Cumin (whole), 1 tbsp Crushed Red Chilli, 1 tbsp Salt, 1 tsp Turmeric, 1 tsp Coriander powder
• The Secret Touch: 1/2 tsp Chinese Salt (for that authentic Fresco taste)
• 2 tbsp Oil & 1 tsp each of Ginger/Garlic paste
Quick Steps:
1. The Dough: In a bowl, mix flour, salt, cumin, and oil. Add water gradually and knead until the dough is soft and smooth. Set aside to rest.
2. The Filling: Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and coriander, cooking for 1 minute. Add the ground beef and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté for about 5 minutes until all the moisture has dried up.
3. The Spices: Add all the dry spices to the beef. Mix well and cook for another minute so the flavors meld. Let the filling cool.
4. The Shaping: Roll out small, thin round sheets. Place the beef filling inside and fold into the classic samosa shape.
5. The Fry: Fry in medium-low heat oil. This is the secret to getting that perfect golden color and crispy texture without burning the crust!
