Many experts have claimed the next recession to take place in 2022. They've seen a recession coming in 2022 even more so since the FED made plans to off load their balance sheet and raise interest rates. But is this signs of a 2022 economic crash? The technical definition of an economic recession is 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP and that just happened as of July. But in reality, it really isn't a hard and fast rule, it's more of a rule of thumb. To determine if we're in an economic downturn, we have a committee known as the business cycle dating committee. This is made up of 8 highly respected economists and they make the decision whether or not to officially declare a recession.

Now based on the information we are currently seeing, it actually makes sense that we're not in a recession due to low unemployment, growing jobs, growing personal spending and wages. The committee that makes the decision of a recession actually looks at 6 different factors to determine whether we are in a recession. Now although I don't believe we're currently in one, I my recession forecast is that we will later this year enter into a recession. Now will the economy crash and will we experience a market crash in 2022? It's impossible to say, but in my opinion this looks to be a mild economic downfall. This is really centered around inflation and once we're able to get that under control, we are anticipating the federal reserve to make a u-turn and start bumping up the economy again.
