How to make Chana Pulao: Wholesome and Delicious One-Pot Meal at home.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1 cup Rice, soaked and drained
1 cup Chickpeas (Chana)
5 cup Water
1 inch Cinnamon
3 Cloves
2 Cardamom
1 Bay Leaf
1 tsp Coriander Seeds
1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Oil
10 Cashews
1/2 cup Onion Slices
5 Slit Green Chillies
1 tbsp Garlic Ginger Paste
1/2 cup Tomato
2 tbsp Mint Leaves
2 tbsp Coriander Leaves
1 tsp Salt
Method:
1. Take soaked Kabuki Chana in a cooker, add 1 cup of water.
2. Cover with lid, place on stove and cook for 2 whistles.
3. Remove the cooker lid & keep aside to cool down.
4. Take 1 cup rice and soak with 2 cups of water.
5. Take a mixer jar and add cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom, Bay Leaf, Coriander Seeds, Fennel Seeds, Cumin Seeds and grind into a fine masala powder. Keep aside.
6. Heat 1 tbsp Ghee in a cooker on medium heat. Add 1 tbsp oil, Cashews and roast for 1 minute.
7. Add onion slice, slit green chillies, and fry until onions turn into light brown color.
8. Add garlic ginger paste, tomato pieces, mint leaves, coriander leaves, salt, and cook until tomato pieces turn into soft on medium heat.
9. Now add prepared masala powder, boiled chana, soaked rice and mix well.
10. Add 2 cups of water and mix again. And cover with lid and cook for 2 whistles.
11. Remove the lid and Chana Pulao is ready to be served.
