Most people think of Cabo as beaches, resorts, and nightlife — but there’s a completely different side of Baja California Sur that very few people ever see.
In this video, we take a daytime hike to Sol de Mayo and the canyons near San Dionisio, about an hour to an hour and a half inland from Cabo San Lucas.
We’re hiking with a local, deep into the canyon, surrounded by running water, untouched nature, and zero crowds. Just a simple day trip — leaving Cabo in the morning and back by mid-afternoon — but it shows why Baja is so special.
Baja California Sur is the least populated state in Mexico, and once you head inland, the landscape completely changes. These canyons collect rainwater year-round, creating hidden oases that feel a world away from the chaos.
