This piece is part of our larger chambre work titled “Suite pittoresque,” a collection of 22 original pieces each inspired by a classical painting, accompanied by an original French-language poem. The movements are placed in an order to abstractly represent the ark of human civilization.
This piece is the tenth in the suite. As the second of the three large movements, it represents a close to the first wave of civilisation as seen from the present day.
“Through this Suite, with its variety of scenes, characters, events, and worlds depicted, we, the Authors and Composers, have attempted to stick the quill to the bow to imitate the brush and thus pay homage to the infinite forms of Art.”
