In this Fontana, California bee removal, I thought I was finished… and I was completely wrong. As soon as I opened the wall, I realized the honey bee hive went way deeper than expected. There was more honey above, more honey below, and brood packed into the studs. This turned into a full cut-out bee removal inside a wall and it was a challenge balancing on a ladder while safely relocating the colony.

I showed the heat signature to confirm where the hive was hiding, then made a clean cut right along the studs to access the colony. The bees were not happy, but I carefully removed the brood comb with larvae, stacked it into the relocation box, and bagged up the excess honeycomb. The wall cavity was deep, dusty, and filled with honey and developing bees. Every time I thought I was done, I found more comb extending further down the wall.

This was a true Southern California live bee removal, relocating honey bees instead of exterminating them. After removing all viable brood and honeycomb, I placed the box on the roof so the remaining bees could settle in. We’ll return in 5–10 days to complete the relocation once the colony fully transfers.
