Carl Sonny Leyland plays a great vocal version of Leroy Carr's classic, "How Long Blues" at the home of Phil & Kaye Kiely in Evansville, Indiana, October 2004. Carl is accompanied on washboard by Dick Mushlitz.
This video was recorded at the home of Phil and Kaye Kiely in Evansville Indiana. They hosted the most wonderful parties entitled the "Evansville Music Bash". My wife Sue and I were privileged to be invited over several years from 2004.
The music was boogie woogie and some of the attendees were some of the best exponents of the genre. There were two piano's in the basement and two more in the living room, often being played at the same time! At the start of the weekend, the Friday Night Jazz Band would play, comprising great musicians.
The guest list was fairly constant and included Carl Sonny Leyland, Charlie Booty, Dick Mushlitz, Charlie Castner, Tom Harris and many others.
