I wrote a song
to help you conjugate the PRETERITE...
It's not very hard,
you just have to get yourself used to it:
Talkin' bout the past;
for when you've already done something...
The START, or the END,
Events that hit Like bolts of lightning
[Pre-CHORUS:]
You can conjugate verbs...
but nothing's gonna last
it always ends up in the past.
Once an action is done...
PRETERITE's the one (Oh oh oh oh oh )
[CHORUS:]
-é / -aste / -ó
-amos / -asteis / and --aron
go on the end, the ending is dropped
-í / -iste / -ió
-imos / -isteis / and --ieron (Oh oh oh oh oh )
Do you get what I mean?
It's just like any conjugation.
We need to drop these
-AR, -ER, and --IR endings.
You can conjugate verbs...
but nothing's gonna last
it always ends up in the past.
Once an action is done...
PRETERITE's the one (Oh oh oh oh oh )
[Repeat pre-CHORUS & CHORUS]
[RAP SEGMENT:]
Yo form, drop the ending:
Instead of --o, -í or --é (with an accent!)
Tú form, next to go:
-aste, -iste, now you know
Él, ella, and usted:
Have --ó or --ió on the end
Okay? Now we're ready, here we go
Let's conjugate for nosotros:
-amos / -imos
...and then vosotros
(if you're in Spain, y'all need to know):
-asteis and --isteis is how it's done
Ellos, ellas, and ustedes is the last one:
-aron, -ieron on the end
Now you know PRETERITE my friends.
For actions that are COMPLETED and DONE,
you should know that PRETERITE's the one!
[Repeat CHORUS]
Повторяем попытку...
