Описание: Filmed on Friday 12 July 2024. Lentas is a small fishing village in Southern Crete, back in antiquity was known as Leben or Lebena and was the port city of Gortys an important Minoan city and the capital of Crete in hellenistic and roman era when the capital of the islands was moved from Knossos to Gortys in the inland to avoid the pirate raids. Both ancient an modern name of the town is after lion, lioness that why the cape at the side is known as cape lion, according to mythology this was one of the two lioness of the chariot of Titans Rhea when she stopped in Crete to give birth to Zeus that was petrified. In the west side of the cape there's the Dyskos village and beach which is nudist on the side next to the rock. Walking through the village there are ruins of the ancient city with more important those of the sanctuary of Asklepios.
