Los Castaños walk with Erik ¦ Mecina Bombaron ¦ La Alpujarra - Spain

Описание: Join us for another hike in the Alpujarras range in Southern Spain. This time we are joined by our old friend Erik, and take the Acequia Alta or Los Castaños route up from the village of Mecina Bombaron.
The route should be around 10km or just over 6 miles, and although it is well waymarked, it is possible to miss the markers like we did and add a few unwanted kilometers!
The hike follows ancient an ancient packhorse route and beautiful acequias, which are lined by old sweet chestnut trees (castaños). A lovely walk in springtime for the wildflowers, or in autumn when the trees are laden with chestnuts.
