Sharing some super delicious collection of savoury, tangy and spicy snacks perfect for Eid or any other occasion. These are chana chaat, papri and dahi phulkiya. Tamarind and green chutneys really compliment these snacks.
For some of you who don’t know, these are very popular South Asian snacks loved by many. The chana chaat is basically a flavourful chickpea chaat made up of vegetables, spices and tamarind pulp. Papri is a very flaky deep fried cracker and dahi phulkiya are mini gram flour dumplings in yogurt with some spices. Learn how to make crispy and flaky papri at home.

RECIPE
PAPRI(crispy cracker)
Ingredients
2cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp carom seeds(ajwain)
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp clarified butter(desi ghee)
1/2 cup+1 tbsp water(or as required)
Oil for frying
DIRECTIONS
•In a large bowl add all purpose flour, salt, carom seeds and clarified butter, mix everything with hands to combine well.
•Add water little by little and knead to make medium hard dough(knead for 1 minute)(I used 1/2 cup+ 1tbsp water for kneading).
•Cover and keep aside for 1/2 an hour to set at room temperature, after 1/2 hour knead the dough again and divide into 2portions.
•Take one portion and place on lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a thin circle, use cookie cutter or bottle cap to cut into small circles, poke holes with fork.Cover the other dough to prevent it from drying.
•From the other portion make small balls and roll out thin.You can make any shape after rolling it out.Repeat the process for other balls.
•Preheat oil for frying, oil should be medium hot not too hot.Fry the papri on medium flame till it gets golden brown in colour from both sides.You can fry 4-5 papri at one time.Drain out the fried papri (it takes 2-3 minutes for frying papri at one time).
•Crispy papri is ready, you can use in chana chaat or Dahi Phulkiya or can enjoy just with a cup of tea as a snack.
CHANA CHAAT
Ingredients
2 onions sliced. Divided
4-5 green chillies finely chopped
1/4 cup+ 2 tbsp tamarind pulp(or as required)
1/2 kg boiled chickpeas
2 tomatoes diced. Divided
1 tsp chaat masala
1&1/2 tsp salt(or to taste)
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp white cumin powder
1/4 cup cooking oil
1/2 tsp white cumin(roasted)
3-4 boiled potatoes and diced
DAHI PHULKIYA
Ingredients for Phulkiya (mini gram flour dumplings in yogurt sauce)
1/2 cup gram flour(baisan)
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp white cumin powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white cumin roasted
1/2 tsp baking powder
Water as required
Oil for frying
Ingredients for Dahi Phulkiya Platter
1/2 Kg yogurt
One onion thinly sliced(soaked in water)
1-2 boiled potatoes and diced
1-2 tomatoes sliced
Few Chopped coriander leaves
2 tbsp tamarind chutney(or as required)
1 tbsp green chutney(or as required)
1/2 tsp salt(or to taste)
1/4 tsp garam masala (optional)
1/2 tsp crushed black pepper
1-2 green chillies(chopped)
