Описание: I took the trail from the parking lot to the summit of Waterrock Knob and came down to make a sharp right to follow the yellow blazes on the trees to the plane crash site. Once you reach the open area of Browning Knob, if you go straight you can continue to Mt Lyn Lowry but if you make a left you can go down the hill to the crash site. After viewing the crash I continued to Mt Lyn Lowry and down Spruce Patch Lane to Green Spire Dr to connect to the MST to loop back to the Waterrock Knob parking lot, this was 11.5 miles total distance. In November 1983 Cessna 414 was flying from West Chicago to the Jackson County airport here in NC. The cause of the crash was determined to be poor visibility due to bad weather and the pilot had a blood alcohol level of 0.04%. Both the pilot and passenger died in the crash.
