Описание: Painless delivery also called as labor analgesia is a procedure wherein epidural analgesia is given so that the patient is kept pain free throughout the normal delivery. In this the procedure is similar to that of spinal anesthesia except that in this the catheter is inserted through the epidural needle and the needle is removed and the catheter remains in the back till the delivery is conducted. The catheter is very fine and the patient can lie down on the back even after the insertion of the catheter medicines are given through the catheter as and when required for pain relief the advantage of epidural is that the patient does not have pain or discomfort associated with the labor pain but at the same time she can feel the tightness or the relaxation which is associated with the labor pain. She can still feel the contractions of the uterus. So that helps her to bear own or to push when the cervix is fully dilated or when she is ready for baby delivery. the benefit of epidural is that it takes away the pain associated with the contains but the patient can still feel the contractions of the uterus and is able to bear down during the delivery of the baby.
