LNER Azuma High Speed Train. First Class Edinburgh to London Kings Cross. Great onboard service.

Описание: Welcome to Speedwell Travel aka The Central Belter. Today I am travelling from Edinburgh Waverley or Edi Wave, down to London Kings Cross. I was able to book this in advance so took advantage of the early booking prices. I also used my Railcard for a discount. I was surprised to find my seat facing backwards. I would never have booked that through choice. The seats are hard and uncomfortable. There is no footrest, this would have been a good option to have as I get really sore sitting too long. Also there was no headrest and the seatback was like concrete. I have heard other reviewers say that there were headrests but these were ripped off by customers as they were so bad. I forgot to mention that the seat did recline and that was a good part. I do realise that we are all different shapes and sizes but for me they didn't work.The service onboard was pretty good. I had the Dish menu and although the food was tasty, they were children's portions and I was left hungry. Pretty happy with the comfort and cleanliness though. I had to stop trying to film in the darkness as there was nothing much to see. The train was delayed at Stevenage for 23 minutes for a signal issue. I used the older LNER service around 15 years ago. I used to commute to London for university and somehow I got vouchers for first class via Edinburgh on two occasions. It was much better than my experience this time round. Honestly though, I would use this service again if I had to. I live in the West Highlands so the Glasgow to London service on Avanti West Coast is more accessible for me however I never know where I will end up next so not inconceivable. Thanks for watching.
