On December 1st, 2023.
An American Airlines Airbus A321NEO registration N435AN, performing flight
AAL2006 from Washington Reagan National Airport (KDCA) to Phoenix Sky
Harbor International Airport (KPHX). Was descending towards Phoenix when
the flight crew declared an emergency and reported flap failure. About 15
minutes later, when AAL2006 was in the vicinity of final, an American Airlines
Airbus A319 registration N762US, performing flight AAL1038 from Phoenix Sky
Harbor International Airport (KPHX) to Guadalajara Don Miguel Hidalgo
Costilla International Airport (MMGL) after departure reported low oil pressure
and quantity on the number 2 engine and requested return to KPHX.
The pilots said that the situation was super time-sensitive.
