THIS VIDEO IS A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FOLLOWING SITUATION IN FLIGHT:
09.08.2020. Smoke indication on board of the airplane and return back. An American Airlines Airbus A-320 (A320), performing flight AAL1319 / AA1319 from Phoenix Sky Harbor international airport, AZ (USA) to Portland international airport, OR (USA), after departure reported about smoke indication and requested return back. The landing was safe.

COMMENTS: AAL1319 is ready for departure from Runway 25 right.
TOWER: AAL1319, Phoenix Tower, wind 300 at 6, RW 25R, cleared for take-off.
AAL1319: Cleared for take-off 25R, AAL1319.
TOWER: AAL1319, contact Departure, good day.
AAL1319: See you.
COMMENTS: There was a first call on Departure frequency from AAL1319, but it was not recorded.
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, Phoenix Departure, climb and maintain FL210.
COMMENTS: We can’t hear reply from AAL1319 and they continued via standard departure route.
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, turn left heading 300, vector on course, do not exceed 270 knots up to 10.
AAL1319: 300, vector on course. Be advised, we might be coming back to the field. We have a situation. We have to work out. We’d like to stop the climb at 10000.
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, amend the altitude, maintain 10000. Do you wanna stay on 300 heading or do you wanna to turn to get back towards the field?
AAL1319: We’d like to came back to the field. We’re gonna have to work on way back. We have avionics smoke advisory light. We’re troubleshooting. And we’re leveling at 10000. If you could give us vectors back, we’re gonna plan on RW 26…
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, roger, turn right heading 070. You are cleared to Phoenix via radar vectors.
AAL1319: Right turn 070 on the heading, AAL1319.
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, when able can you say souls on board and fuel remaining
COMMENTS: Another traffic has just departed out of Phoenix and interrupted conversation.
AAL1319: …41 souls on board, for AAL1319.
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, thank you, sir, copied. And someone [interrupted you during your] readback. Would you say the fuel once again?
AAL1319: 3 hours 57 minutes, 141 souls on board.
DEPAARTURE: Thank you, sir, very much. And do you wanna burn some of that?
AAL1319: Yes, we’re gonna have to burn some of that.
DEPAARTURE: [unclear] descending for a little bit about in 10.
AAL1319: That would be outstanding, thank you, AAL1319.
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, I just keep you eastbound for about in 20 miles before I have to turn you, is that alright?
AAL1319: That would be fine, I wish we’ll burn that fuel. We got everything [unclear] now, AAL1319.
DEPAARTURE: If it would help, do you need a little bit lower or you’re ok there at 10000?
AAL1319: Actually, a little lower would help, thank you, for the burn.
DEPAARTURE: AAL1319, descend and maintain 8000.
AAL1319: 8000, AAL1319, appreciate your help.
DEPAARTURE: No problem.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.
