The first in a 4-part series of reflections on the new Trump era in the USA, chaired by Dr Jonathan Chaplin (UK) with contributors from the USA, Mexico, Canada and the UK. As lead contributor Jim Skillen (formerly Director of the Center for Public Justice, USA) says in this opening session, a Reformational Christian worldview implies that the state (or public legal community) legitimately includes government and citizens and is one of the spheres of society over which Jesus Christ is truly sovereign, and in which we are all called to seek principles of public justice.
Adolfo García de la Sienra (University of Veracruz) then responds with some comments comparing the USA and Mexican cultures of government in recent times, noting positive and negative outcomes of current interactions between the two governments.
