TREASURE SCRIPTURE
Matthew 24:24 NKJV
24For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

This passage warns believers about false Christs and false prophets who will arise, especially during times of crisis and uncertainty. Throughout history, individuals have claimed divine authority and led many astray. Scripture consistently cautions God’s people to be watchful and discerning, remembering that not everyone who speaks in God’s name truly represents Him.

Jesus also warns that these false teachers may perform impressive signs and wonders. Although miracles are often linked to God’s power, they can also be used deceptively. Believers are therefore called to test every spirit and measure every message against God’s Word, rather than being swayed by outward displays.

The phrase “to deceive even the elect” highlights how powerful and subtle this deception can be. Even committed believers must remain spiritually alert and rooted in Scripture. However, the words “if that were possible” offer reassurance that God protects His people. While deception is real, God’s sovereignty prevails.

This passage encourages Christians to stay grounded in Christ, grow in spiritual discernment, and trust in God’s preserving grace.
