The need for Nigerian women to support one another across all sectors has again been emphasized. The call came on the sidelines of the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration held at the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies in Ilorin the Kwara State capital.
Speakers at the event, including a representative of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment and Assistant Chief Labour Officer, Rachael Adeoye, alongside the Director-General of MINILS, Issa Aremu an others, supported the recent call by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for greater female participation in governance.
They stressed the need to increase women’s representation in the Nigerian Senate from the current four members to at least six from each geopolitical zone, noting that when women rise, Nigeria rises.
