Massive House Fire on Hercules Street in Hesperia Destroys RV, Injures Firefighter

Описание: HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A fast-moving structure fire erupted Saturday afternoon in the 17700 block of Hercules Street in Hesperia, destroying a residential garage and RV, and leaving one firefighter injured and airlifted for medical treatment.

According to emergency radio traffic, the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District responded at around 2:50 p.m. on May 31, 2025, to the reported structure fire at 17785 Hercules Street.

Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire conditions and reported that half of the structure’s roof has collapsed. Thick black smoke was visible for miles.

Multiple firefighting units were dispatched to the scene, including ME302, ME304, ME306, ME314, ME334, and MT304, among others.

An RV on the property was also destroyed in the blaze. While the official cause has not been confirmed, early information suggests the fire may have originated in the RV before spreading to the garage. Investigators have yet to determine the exact cause.

During initial operations, crews were working to locate an unaccounted elderly male. However, following a primary search of both the residence and the motorhome, firefighters confirmed that all occupants were safe and the structures were “all clear.”

One firefighter sustained injuries that may include a broken leg while battling the fire and was airlifted from the scene by a REACH helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, according to scanner traffic. No updates on the firefighter’s condition have been released.

No civilian injuries were reported. The fire caused significant damage, and crews remain on scene for overhaul and investigation.

Motorists and residents are urged to avoid the area near Hercules Street between I Avenue and Peach Avenue.
