HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A man was killed in a four-vehicle traffic collision that shut down Summit Valley Road in Hesperia on Wednesday afternoon, prompting an extended closure and investigation.
The crash was reported at about 1:44 p.m. on June 18, 2025, near Foley Road, and involved a black Honda Accord, a blue Toyota Tacoma, a white GMC work truck, and a FedEx Ground delivery vehicle.
San Bernardino County Fire crews responded and found the Honda with major front and side damage. The Toyota Tacoma had significant front-end damage, the GMC work truck had veered off the roadway into the desert on the east side, and the FedEx truck was on its side in the southbound lane.
California Highway Patrol officers with the Victorville Station confirmed the male driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity will be released by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office pending next of kin notification.
All other drivers involved were single occupants and sustained only minor injuries. No one was transported by ambulance.
As of 3:31 p.m., the coroner had not yet arrived and all four vehicles remained at the scene. Both directions of Summit Valley Road were closed and expected to remain so for several hours.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
