Hang Gliding Crash - ROTOR LAUNCH ISSUE LESSON LEARNED

Описание: I'm sharing this video to show the dangers of launching near a tree line where rotors can potentially cause a major accident. Luckily I reacted fast enough to spit the throttle and land (not gracefully but it could've been worse). The other challenge that I believe played a role was the extremely thermic air causing one heck of a rowdy launch! I also checked the wind conditions at both ends of the Air Strip that left me a bit confused because at one end the wind direction was from the East and the other end it was from the West. This told me there must've been a thermal that popped off in the middle of the Air Strip. I should've Hang Waited until conditions were more predictable.....

MY Freefly Hook-In weight with the GT POD Harness is approx 200 lbs. My FLPHG Hook-In weight is 250 lbs with the Mosquito. Weight range of the F3 195 is 175 lbs to 275 lbs. Effective climbing air speed is approx 27 mph. Max ROC approx 400 fpm.
Glide Ratio without the Skeeter is at best 9 - 1 +/-
