ASP PRESENTS:
The United States Marines summer service uniform during the start of World War 2. This is an in depth look and history of the summer service uniform.
To distinguish between the Marine summer service uniform from the Army summer service uniform are the following:
1) The pocket flaps on the Marine shirt is pointed whereas the Army shirt's pocket flaps are straight.
2) The Marine shirt has a cotton strip behind the buttons whereas the Army shirt's do not have.
3) Marine markings or stenciling on the Marine summer shirt around the inner collar.
Special thanks to Joe in presenting his collection of USMC uniforms to the ASP.
