Your foot strike pattern does NOT have to stay the same.

Let me make this clear.
While we want the foot to land relatively close to the body to limit over striding, your actual foot strike pattern can change based on your relative paces/efforts.
There are people who claim that forefoot strike is the BEST and should always land this way.
However, this is NOT true.
Your foot strike pattern can change based on things like the terrain, the shoes you wear, and efforts you are running at.
There are people who’s preferred foot strike pattern looks relatively the same; however, it is also NORMAL to see it change depending on the relative speed you are running at.
Even at the professional level, it is NORMAL to see athletes running closer to the rearfoot during longer distances events.
However, sprinters may land closer to the forefoot for more maximal efforts.
