In this quick tutorial, I’ll show you how I key out a subject in After Effects and get it ready to drop into a new scene.
I’m using Keylight to pull the key, then refining the matte and removing spill with Advanced Spill Suppressor. It’s a straightforward process I use all the time on real projects — simple, quick, and it gets the job done.

– Keying with Keylight
– Cleaning up the matte
– Using a Luma Matte
– Removing green spill
This is the first in a short series — next episode, I’ll match the subject’s colour to the background using the Levels effect.
