Seth Banshidhar Jalan Smriti Mandir is situated at the banks of river Ganga in Howrah.The other names of this temple is Bangeswar Mahadev Mandir or Howrah Salkia Natun Mandir. The main attraction of this temple is 51ft Lord Shiva idol which is the highest Shiva idol in Kolkata . This temple is situated in Salkia, Howrah. In this campus there are 12 jyotirlings also which is
another attraction of this temple.

February 12, 1953, First West Bengal Chief Minister Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy inaugurated this temple.

December 13, 2015, the former Honorable President of India Shri
Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the 51-foot tall statue of Lord Shiva at this temple.

The 12 Jyotirlingas in India are Somnath, Nageshwar, Bhimashankar, Trimbakeshwar, Grishneshwar, Vaidyanath, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Kashi Vishwanath, Kedarnath, Rameshwaram, and Mallikarjuna

How to reach :

First, you arrive at the Ahiritola Ghat in Kolkata , launch from here and reach "Bandhaghat" the other end and walk a short distance. And those who want to get here from Howrah will get to the "Bandhaghat" Bus stop. There is a direct bus from Howrah to "Bandhaghat". And those buses going to Howrah through Belur, or the Howrah-Salkia bus, you can reach here

Visiting time of This Temple :

Morning - 5.30 am to 12.00 pm , Evening - 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm
