Join us on an epic aerial adventure as we explore the Llangattock Lime Kilns with breathtaking drone footage! Soar high above these magnificent Grade II* listed historic lime kilns in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. Captured in stunning 4K drone views, this video reveals the sheer scale and beauty of one of the largest and best-preserved banks of lime kilns in the UK.
Located alongside the serene Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal near the charming village of Llangattock (close to Crickhowell), these impressive 19th-century structures date back to around 1815. Built by the Brecknock Boat Company, the Llangattock Lime Kilns feature seven massive chambers – the biggest set along the canal – where limestone from nearby quarries was burned with coal to produce quicklime for agriculture, building mortar, and industry during the Industrial Revolution.
Watch as our drone flies over the towering stone arches, draw holes, and the picturesque canal wharf, showcasing the kilns' trapezoidal design built into the hillside. Restored in 1995 and 2018, these industrial heritage icons now include a peaceful picnic area on top, perfect for visitors exploring the Limekilns Trail.
Whether you're into Welsh history, industrial archaeology, canal walks, or just love jaw-dropping aerial drone views of hidden Welsh gems, this video is for you!
