Wow nasi rawon surprised me - black beef soup!? The looks can be deceiving but I'm glad to have tasted this. The beef was super tender and the soup was well seasoned with spices - it had sort of a salty nutty taste going - really delicious with some rice. It also had this salted egg which I took a bite of as I took a spoonful of the nasi + rawon - pretty interesting and delicious! I also tried the bubur ketan hitam and wow this is my instant-favorite Indonesian dessert - nice coconut sweet flavor and it was warm too. It wasn't overly sweet either so it was really enjoyable.

Special thanks to the owners Peter and Michael for inviting me to the restaurant and to try so many different foods for free! But unfortunately, due to COVID and the slowing economy (at the time of filming Q4 2021), the restaurant sadly closed recently. Honestly, they had some really fine dining - it was a really proper restaurant with legit Indonesian food. They had food that I've never seen in other Indonesian restaurants and I am glad I was able to taste some of them before they closed down (stay tuned for this on next week's episode).
