"Contra - Heart of Galuga" is a hack that has been under development for over a year by DimelNEX. The hack includes many changes and additions, such as:

a new title screen;
expanded levels;
difficulty selection;
more animated backgrounds in the levels;
redrawn sprites, updated palettes, and added new details in levels;
adjusted object and weapon characteristics;
new types of items and power-ups;
various new features in the levels;
ranks, time, and death count displayed after completion;
additional new character skins;
secret modes;
modified game mapper from RC2/RC4 to VRC6.

Unlike the original, this hack offers longer gameplay and introduces more variety to the levels.
