Invercargill - Queens Park + Classic Motoring Capital of New Zealand

Описание: Invercargill is New Zealand's southernmost city and is also known as the classic motoring capital of NZ for good reasons! It all started with local legend Burt Munro who set a world land speed record when he was almost 70 years old in the Utah Salt Flats and Invercargill is where his classic bike lives til this day. Invercargill is also home to Transport World that showcases a world class collection of classic vehicles.

Our first stop when we arrived in Invercargill though was the iconic red brick water tower before making our way over to look for some food.

Since we arrived a bit late in the afternoon, we were lucky to come across a shop that was still open for lunch but better still, specialises in pork and bacon. Friendly staff and such a tasty meal, our bellies and tastebuds were totally satisfied.

After our late lunch we went for a stroll through the beautiful and charming, Queens Park. A magnificent well kept public park in the heart of Invercargill city. There was a typo in the video though, 80 hectares is roughly 200 acres.

We loved our accommodation in Invercargill. It was exceptionally comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped too. It definitely felt like a home away from home for us.

Two days later, we went to go check out The World's Fastest Indian which sits proudly on display at E. Hayes And Sons, a unique hardware store like no other.

Lastly, we visited Bill Richardson Transport World. The largest private automotive museum of its type in the world. They have a vast collection of vintage motor vehicles and petrol pumps. It's also home to New Zealand's largest Happy Meal toy collection too.
