Описание: Okay. I may be the only person on earth who cares about this deep cut from a couple of mid-era Yakuza games, but that's okay--I care enough about it for ALL of us lol.

The franchise soundtracks are best known for loopy J-pop karaoke bangers, but as a lifelong jazz tourist my favorite tracks are the moody jazz numbers that play in the seedy dives where you're nursing a glass of Yamazaki 12 or trying to spin one into the corner pocket against Majima or the hostess du jour. This track was first conceived for Yakuza 5, but also used in Kiwami, Kiwami 2 (in the Kawara reminiscence opening cutscene), Yakuza 0 (at the Grand), and Judgment. I did not hear it in 6 or 7, so they may have stopped using it, though I could have missed something. The original featured a muted trumpet as the lead, but since I have been a fangirl of hometown heroes Charlottesville-based vgm jazz combo ‪@TheHardModes‬ FOREVER and have dearly wanted to work with Greg in some capacity I KNEW he would slay this on his sax and OMG HE DID. HE SO DID OMG IT WAS BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED IN MY WILDEST DREAMS AAAAAHHHH!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍 He brought an expressivity and sensitivity to this horn-heavy ballad that just brought it to a whole new level I could cry, on top of everybody else who kicked ass on this thing--as always my GOATs ‪@RahulVanamali‬ on drums and ‪@MusicOnTheDLo‬ on the bass 😍😍😍😍 I CANNOT THANK THESE BOYS ENOUGH FOR BRINGING THEIR A GAME FOR THIS!!!!!! I OWE THEM MY LIFE 😭

Seriously this cover makes me so unbelievably happy and I'm so darn excited to share it with all of you, even if nobody knows it (honestly I'd be surprised if more than a handful of Yakuza fans even recognize it), it's a gorgeous jazz ballad and an honor to play with phenomenal musicians who graciously allowed me to pester them with my based ideas lol.
