This is the second in my WalkActive Technique Drills Series: The Hip Lift Drill. It is for the hips and helps you achieve a HIP LIFT. I've designed this drill to help you use your abdominals more effectively, reduce lower back pain and reduce strain on the hips and pelvis plus help engage more of your gluteals as you walk - this will give you more tone and pace.
Once you have tried the Open Ankle Drill ( see full video in WalkActive Drills ) for your feet and you feel your feet are becoming ACTIVE and your ANKLES OPEN. Then add this drill to your WalkActive practice.
Practice this and you will look better, feel better and perform better with your walking!
What are my benefits with this drill?:
Improves knee and hip alignment
Flattens and tones lower abdominals
Helps to engage glutes your bum muscles
Reduces lower back pain.
Encourages your body to use the right muscles, specifically the calves and glutes so you improve your body's results.
When do I do this drill?:
This is great to do at the start of your walking workouts - I find with my clients, it mentally helps put you in the right head space plus allow you to feel the unique tautening and lengthening effect of the WalkActive technique.
But it's also great during your walk as your body warms up and you feel your body opening up more.
