Week 7 of my ultra marathon training got spicy: I broke my toe early in the week and still pushed through my biggest week yet, including a 22-mile trail long run (my farthest distance so far). I moved all my long runs to trails, tested new pacing strategies, and yes… I got lost a couple of times out there.
In this episode, you’ll see what my trail long runs look like, how I’m building endurance for the Rocky 50 / 50-mile ultra, how I’m managing mileage while dealing with a toe injury, and what pacing changes I’m making to stay strong late in the run.
