Описание: In this episode of HARMONIC MECHANISMS FOR THE MIND # 50, we train a specific kind of steadiness: CONSISTENT PICKING that doesn’t get shaken when the fretting hand changes strings, notes, or shapes.

We start by tuning in to PROPRIOCEPTION in the picking hand—feeling the motion as it travels up and down through space, noticing the weight of the hand, and letting the rhythm stay even and unhurried. The goal is simple: the picking hand becomes a calm, reliable engine.

Then the fretting hand begins to move. Notes change. Strings change. Positions shift. But the rule stays the same: the fretting hand does not get to disturb the picking hand’s time. That separation—two jobs, two layers—is a mechanism you can carry into everything.

In the second half, I play a longer line that outlines distant chord colors—families of harmony that don’t usually sit next to each other. The line is driven by a repeating guitar mechanism that shifts down consistently, and it has a useful side effect: it helps break the mind and the hands out of getting stuck in one position, and out of living in one tonality for too long.

If you work with this slowly and attentively, it becomes less about “practice” and more about building a dependable inner grid: steady motion, free movement, and a wider harmonic map.
