Nowhere to be found, he called 911…and then spotted a white truck with her inside. The driver: Michael Fosler, a 67‑year‑old man previously charged with 43 sexual offense counts against Spencer’s daughter—released on bond only weeks earlier.

Fueled by desperation and dread, Spencer pursued the truck, forced it off the road, and was met with resistance. Believing his daughter’s life was in imminent danger, he fired his Glock 19 Gen4, hitting Fosler multiple times. He then reloaded, retrieved his daughter, and called 911 again—“He’s dead,” he reported.

Spencer was charged with second‑degree murder and a firearm enhancement in November, Spencer maintains he acted in defense of his child—a husband and war hero pushed to the brink by parental instinct. His attorneys describe him as “a heroic father” who did what any parent would to protect their child.
