María Benítez is an American dancer, choreographer and director, internationally recognized as a leader in Spanish dance and flamenco. A native New Mexican, Benítez is best known for the work of the company she and her husband Cecilio founded and direct - María Benítez Teatro Flamenco. The María Benítez Teatro Flamenco performed at festivals and concert halls in all 50 states of the US, as well as Canada, Germany, Holland, Spain and Austria since the early 1970s.
