A 2D1N weekend getaway to Pulau Kapas, organized by KL Hiking on 12-13 March.
We hiked, snorkeled (not me, though) and chilled on the small island 15 minutes from Marang Jetty. We stayed at Pak Ya Village Campsite, a basic open air area for visitors to pitch their tents.
The hike to Bukit Singa was relatively easy. The distance was around 3 km or so. However, we had to scramble on rocks that were jagged and sharp. I cut my finger on the rocks, and my palms were rubbed raw. Gloves, long pants and closed toe sandals are very much recommended here.
Bukit Singa is a hill on one end of the island. The climb up is definitely not for those with vertigo as it is steep with sandy and loose rocks for hand/footholds.
The lighthouse hike, on the other hand, was much more relaxing. Situated on the opposite end of the island, we only had to climb a long set of stairs to arrive at the lighthouse. The view there was great, a perfect treat for this leisure escapade.
