How to draw legs step by step

Описание: As I always say at the end of my videos, your comments are very important for me and I will try to reply with a tutorial to each of you who left a comment below my description.

This tutorial is for Van Anh Nguyen and for all of you who asked about a leg tutorial.

I will draw now another position of the leg. It is a half or a semi-profile view of the leg and I will start with the axes, as you allready know. Sketch the whole leg, not just a part of it.

Then continue with the primary shapes, in this case, the cylinders.

Then go to the third stage: the connection between the shapes.
We start with simple, thin lines and then we will put the accents with a stronger line. Use 8B pencils for darker contrast.

As usuall, I will start with the axes of both legs. Keep in mind that half of your leg will be the knee and that the knee axis will be parallel with that one of the hips.

Make sure to have the feet parallel with the ground and stable on a surface - because you don't want to give the impression they are floating.

After the axes and primary shapes, we start to draw the connection between the shapes, having in view the muscles beneath the skin.
The muscles are symmetric, disposed at the left or right side of the bones.

The twin muscles are following the "V" axis: this means the exterior muscle is bigger and upper and the interior muscle is smaller and lower. We do the same with the other leg too.

The feet has the fingers arranged on a round axis as you can see: I draw an arrow to underline the direction.

If the axis of the twins muscles are in "V" shape, the axis of the ankles is in "A" shape.
