How to draw bodies, a step by step tutorial for beginners

I made this video for "I'm The Louis To Your Harry" and for all of you who wanted to know about poses, measurements and sizes of different parts of the human body and drawing after photographies.

Start with the size and position of the head. You can measure it after your photo or just consider the size of the head as being the size of your thumb. You can find out his size also by spliting the dimension of the full figure into 7 and a half equal parts.

The inclination of the head should be parallell with that one of your photo model.

Trace the symmetry line in the middle of your page.

Then measure the the neck - it is half compared to the head.

See if the axes of the shoulders go up or down and then measure them by using this AB technique I will show you.

If the axis of the shoulder goes up, the axis of the hip goes down.

The length of the hands should reach the half point of the distance between hips and knee. After drawing the axes, start with the primary shapes: cylinders, cones, spheres and so on.

Go to the last step and connect the primary shapes. Make sure to have an 8B pencil to underline the lines. Now the construction can be barely seen because the last lines - these ones that connect the shape - should be more obvious.

Draw the muscles of the legs, as you already know from my previous videos, and then the feet. Be careful when drawing the axes of the head: the horizontal lines should be perpendicular on the vertical line.
