Описание: Georgi Leonidze Street begins at Freedom Square and continues to Iashvili Street. It divides the Sololaki and Mtatsminda districts. Leonidze Street appeared in the XIX century on the site of the Sololaki Canal (Avanantkhevi), a stream that was channeled into a pipe. This creek flowed further through Freedom Square and along Pushkin and Baratashvili streets to the Mtkvari River. In the 1870s the stream was enclosed in a culvert. In the XIX century the street was called Sololaki Street, and people often referred to it as Warm Street (because throughout the day the sun warmed it evenly).
From 1934 until the 1990s it bore the name of Sergei Kirov. The Soviet state and political figure Sergei Kirov (1886–1934) is connected to Georgian history because from 1918 to 1921 he was the representative of Soviet Russia in the Democratic Republic of Georgia and one of the leaders of the Bolshevik underground in Tiflis. In February 1921, Soviet Russia violated the peace treaty signed with the Democratic Republic of Georgia on May 7, 1920, and Red Army troops entered the city precisely along Sololaki Street.
Since the 1990s the street has borne the name of the outstanding Georgian poet Leonidze (1899–1966). From the time of its founding, the street was considered central in this district. The most fashionable shops, confectioneries, banks, and numerous offices - including representatives of various firms, both European and others - were located here.

One of the most beautiful buildings on Leonidze Street is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, formerly the Tbilisi Society of Mutual Credit. It was built between 1910 and 1915 by Tbilisi architect Mikhail Ogandjanov (1870–1917) with the participation of architect Ivan Kolchin and executed in Art Nouveau style. The bank's opening took place on July 23, 1915. The façade decoration was carried out by craftsmen from the Tbilisi firm of Novak.

House No. 8 on Leonidze street is built in 1902 and belonged to the pharmacist Ferdinand Otten. "Otten's Apotheke" was located on the ground floor. This is where Antanas Žukauskas (1882-1957), also known as Vienuolis, the Lithuanian writer and dramatist, lived and worked between 1901 and 1903.

No. 7, which was built in 1902 in the Art Nouveau style, is a former glove workshop.

Building No. 10 belongs to the architect Ferdinand Lehmkuhl (1822-1894) was built according to his own project in 1851. The building has changed its looks since then. Between 1878 and 1880, Lehmkuhl worked in Baku, where he also constructed several buildings.
