Описание: General Sibiya pushes back against allegations linked to WhatsApp messages allegedly extracted from Vusimusicet Matlala’s phone. He rejects any reliance on the chats, arguing that his name is merely mentioned and that the extraction process, preservation and authenticity of the messages remain unclear.

He also highlights what he describes as material inconsistencies in General Mkhwanazi’s versions, comparing statements made during a public briefing with testimony presented before the commission.

The hearing further examines allegations about Sibiya’s supposed friendship with Matlala, which he firmly denies, as well as his role in the kidnapping investigation of Jerry Boshoga. Sibiya argues that if there were genuine concerns about his involvement, he would have been removed from the investigation. He maintains that the investigative team he constituted handled the matter thoroughly and continued working on the case until the docket was later removed.
