The Impending Unity of the World as Predicted by the Baha’i Writings

Robert Henderson is Principal Consultant for The Henderson Consulting Group — specializing in the development of high performance organizations and providing services in management consulting, organization development, leadership, coaching and diversity. His clients have included American Express, AT&T, BP/Amoco, NASA, General Electric, Hallmark, Exxon, Prudential, Rochester Regional Health System, United Technologies, Ohio Health, Xerox, the California State Supreme Court and the Chicago White Sox. His design and implementation of the “Wegmans Way to Manage” Program was an named an important element in Wegmans Food Markets being named #1 on the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Fortune Magazine.
Dr. Henderson served as the principal consultant to the Baharicom Development Company, co-builder of the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE)/Uhurunet submarine cable system. The 17,000 km-long fiber optic cable stretches from France to South Africa and became operational in the first half of 2012, connecting 23 countries. The ACE/Uhurunet network will be a key driver of Africa’s social and economic growth, providing the region’s highest capacity submarine network. He also lead the establishment of a philanthropic broadband capacity endowment to provide free capacity to thousand of schools, libraries, universities and health care programs that cannot otherwise afford it.
For two decades, until its recent sale to ByLine Bank, Dr. Henderson served as member of the Board of Directors of the First Bank & Trust. He was Chairman of FBT’s Investment Trust Committee and a member of the Loan Committee and the Audit Committee.
He also served as Vice President of Board of Directors of the American
Dental Association Foundation and chaired the Fund Development Committee for Give Kids a Smile, a national program that provides free comprehensive oral health care for over 400,000 children a year.
Dr. Henderson currently serves as Board Chair of Community Neighborhood Technologies (CNT), a not-for-profit organization focused on urban sustainability and social equity that received the MacArthur Foundation “Genius” award for organizations. CNT’s work focuses on research and development of tools to create equitable and sustainable communities in climate, housing, transportation, water, energy and employment.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Cook County Hospital Foundation and serves on its Executive Committee.
Dr. Henderson was appointed a United States Federal Commissioner on the Martin Luther King, Jr., Federal Holiday Commission. At the invitation of President Bill Clinton he spoke to a White House Conference on Social and Economic Development and participated in a series of White House meetings on development strategy focusing on international debt reorganization and food security. He designed and led meetings of California Supreme Court members, judges, and lawyers to establish a California State Supreme Court Commission on Race and Ethnic Bias.
He is an elected member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of the United States, the Bahá'í Faith’s senior national administrative institution.
Robert Henderson holds a doctoral degree in Education (learning theory/management) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
